The covers – and the roof – have come off the latest Bugatti Veyron. This is the new Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, a targa-top version of infamous 987bhp supercar. Details are still scant, Bugatti remaining tight-lipped until the car is officially unveiled later this month at the Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance.
A few changes and tweaks are obvious though. For a start - if you hadn’t noticed already - the roof panel lifts out. And while it may appear opaque, it is in fact a clear panel. Bugatti claims ‘innovative structural solutions’ take care of any potential wobbles. Daytime LED running lights are also new, plus we’ve been told the air intakes for the quad-turbo W16 engine have been revised to deal with the open-top Grand Sport's new aerodynamics.
There’s no word yet on whether the Grand Sport will form part of Bugatti’s promised run of 300 Veyrons, or how much the new car will cost. The first model off the Molsheim line will be expensive though, as it will be auctioned at Pebble Beach.
